Compromise

When we searched for a place to live we had a wish list but knew we might have to compromise.

What I wanted
▫️updated kitchen
▫️washer and dryer in unit
▫️safe area
▫️top floor

Simple really. Not too picky.

Well in the end we didn't get the first 2 things we wanted. After searching we realized we wanted to live in an area that was walkable. I also wanted to live close to work until I got used to city traffic.

1st area was in a industrial area. The 2 apartments we looked at met all the requirements except questionable safe area. They were very nice places though.

Another apartment we looked at was during rush hour and the evening. Traffic was too bad.

Another area was trendy and had too many bars. Bars = rowdy party people. We didn't want to live near that.

The last area is amazing but with older homes and apartments. My husband loved the character of these places. A lot of the places were way too tiny. I cringed at the outdated kitchens and bathrooms. In the end though we chose this area and the outdated rooms because of the neighborhood. It's a neighborhood full of millionaires. The neighborhood is very walkable and safe. Plus I'm close to work.

We don't have a dishwasher -- boo hoo. Not even a garbage disposer. We have a shared laundry room -- ugh. I think I'll be buying more clothes. Lol

I can't wait to furnish and decorate!

Blog name

Sometimes I'm not sure about Finding the Sparkle as my blog name.

I've been trying to think of something more personal but I'm coming up blank.

I spent the last few weeks adjusting and trying to find a place to live.

Well I know how to get to work and a few other places. We found a place to live. To protect my privacy I'm not saying where it's at. But I'll tell you it's near water and it's in a charming area.

Seriously did anyone think I wouldn't live near water? Lol

I have so much to do and can't wait to share all the home projects I do. Right now we are just renters so it won't be home renovation projects.

How are you?

I've had a busy week of work and after work errands. I'm looking forward to the weekend off but know that it's going to be busy.

I have so much to do. I'm so relieved that we closed on our condo. That was a major stress and G-d certainly blessed us with a quick sale and perfect buyer.

Do you have the support of good friends? I have a friend in Texas who I wish that I lived closer to. She is an amazing strong Christian. She's kept me going when I was getting down. She's single so if you know of any good single men in Texas let me know. She's beautiful.

So how are you doing? I hope you are well.

I just want to be settled!

We have so much to do in the midst of me starting a new job and my hubby going out of town soon.

Making a major move put too much stress on my body and mind. I caught a cold -- a cold that is still with me. I haven't had a cold for 4 years or more. Now I have a cough I just can't shake and it's driving me crazy.

I've taken Tylenol Cold, Emergen-C and NyQuil. Drank plenty of water. I've now bumped it to trying Mucinex and Halls cough drops.

I don't have time to get sick.

We have to find a place to live, furnish it plus I need clothes for work. I need a makeover too lol. Oh I need to get in shape which this cold has made it impossible.

Doesn't your life look better now.

Pray for me lovelies!

New life so new blog

I hope you follow along from my original blog Making Maui Home.

I decided to start a new blog with my major move from the island of Maui to a southern state.  This has been a big move and I'll be adjusting. It just didn't make sense to  keep Making Maui Home since I no longer live on Maui.  Maybe one day I'll return.

It was a difficult decision but I'm only looking forward and yes Finding the Sparkle in life. Hence the new name of my blog.

I'll continue you my eclectic style of blogging.

Follow along as I share my stories of living in a big city, finding a place to live, furnishing this place, and anything that pops into my head.

Take care lovelies!
