The house that got away

The housing market is tight where I live. You have to be on it. Since I'm in transition well actually homeless I've been searching Zillow every day.

I've been praying every day for the perfect home.

Yesterday a house came on the market. It's in the town I want to live in. Perfect wooded neighborhood. House is a disaster but one we could lovingly restore.  Prayer answered right?

I called a realtor to look at it. Heart sunken as today it already had an accepted offer. I'm crushed. They are accepting back up offers but I don't want to be in a bidding war.

My husband said there will be other houses. Ok husband find me another one that outshines this one. I've been looking for 3 months.

Take care lovelies!

Disney

Sometimes you just have a trip just as you make a major life change or move.

Do you know how much I miss living in Maui?

We stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort. In the pirate section. It was exactly like Port Orleans.

1st day - Magic Kingdom. We ate the quick service lunch Be Our Guest. It wasn't bad but it wasn't exceptional.  I was disappointed I couldn't get a dinner reservation.

2nd day - Hollywood Studios and Epcot. We ate lunch at 50s Prime time Cafe. I had the Pot Roast and it was okay not stellar.

For dinner we went to Ohana at the Polynesian resort. We were late. The Disney resort transport was horrible at night. We had to wait forever for a bus and when it got to us it was standing only and it had to stop at 3 more stops. We were so late, but they didn't turn us away.

I was too exhausted to go a 3rd day

Do you read my blog

Does anyone still read? I know I've been lax since I've moved from Maui.

Hallway

One of our hallways connects 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. It's an odd hallway. Just enough room to fit an office.

Before:

Look at that nice corner and room.

After:

We have plenty of room still as a hallway and an efficient desk.

The desk is from IKEA. The desk chair from Costco.

Take care lovelies!

No storage

We ended up using our dining table as a dropoff location. I hated it. Scooching things to the side. Piles of mail. Work bags in chairs.

We didn't want to spend a lot of money.

We had this extra wide hallway that led from the living room to the dining room.

Before:

Well turn yourself around now

It's not perfect but the storage it provides is amazing.

Next I'll show you the office we created in a weird hall.

Take care lovelies!

Dining Room

It's a tiny room that's simple.

Before:

After:

I've always wanted a round table. This table has a leaf. We wanted nice comfy chairs.

The dining table became a dropoff space so I had to come up with a solution which I'll show you in the next post.

Take care lovelies!

Vacation Las Vegas

Boy do I need more time off. Every day I feel like quitting my job so this time off was desperately needed.

I'm not your typical Las Vegas tourist but when I heard Britney Spears was there I had to go. I just love her so don't put her down.

We stayed at Aria. It was nice. I like the automation of everything. Buttons or remotes controlled everything. Imagine pressing a goodnight button that closed the curtains and turned off the lights. Imagine blackout curtains. It was so nice.

This was our view out the window. We could see Vdara, Cosmopolitan, back of Bellagio, Rio and The Palms.

We ate at Buca di Beppo - not that big of a fan of it.

YOLOS at Planet Hollywood. I think there are probably better Mexican restaurants.

The Top of the World at the Stratosphere. It's a revolving restaurant and we like it because you can see all of Las Vegas.

The Monte Carlo Buffett. We got a buy one get one deal. It's not a buffet I'd recommend unless you're going for the cheapest.

We ate lunch at Hash House A Go GO. Twisted farm food. It was good but I'm sure it was calories enough for 2 days.

This was Andy's sage fried chicken w/ fresh spinach, hardwood smoked bacon, market tomato, griddled mozzarella, chipotle cream and scrambled eggs.

Ummm so good!

We ate at In-n-Out too. Always a treat but their fries could be better. For as busy as they were we thought they'd be hot and delicious.

We learned the shortcuts to get around. We shopped at the outlet malls. Husband did some gambling.

It was just nice to relax by the pool. Yes I worked out on vacation!

Take care lovelies!
